Drama and the Early Childhood Curriculum

The benefits of drama and the power of imaginative play are becoming increasingly recognised for their importance in supporting the holistic development of children.  As such, many early childhood settings place real value on programs that promote child-led, play-based learning.  Our classes are developed with defined learning outcomes to support the National Quality Framework in the most fun and playful way.

Using imagination throughout the programme helps children to make sense of and explore the world around them. Our skilled drama instructors apply intentional teaching methods to support the development of a child’s key social skills, including concentration, co-operation, communication and creative problem solving.  Each class also incorporates all 5 outcomes of  Belonging, Being and Becoming - The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

The EYLF describes the principles, practices and outcomes that support and enhance young children's learning from birth to five years of age, as well as their transition to school.  With our programme underpinned by this framework, instructors are able to scaffold on children's learning and create strong, confident, lifelong learners.
